Pitt Excels To Lift Trophy
Early signs were evident that Jon was not just making up the numbers when he pitched in his second shot from seventy yards to eagle on the par four second hole. In the first pairings Kestrels (U12) Toby Roberts and Joe Makepeace were giving Brian Carminke and Paul Randal a lesson in golf with two very credible rounds Toby coming in second place with thirty nine points and Joe finishing on thirty four points in fourth place. Sam Barratt (U14) and Sean Moore (U14) were paired with Peter Barratt and Dave Thorpe. Sam was another of the Kestrels players that showed that its not just football he can play but golf is another sport he can put his hand to, scoring thirty five points and finishing third overall two points clear of his dad! On the fourth hole nearest pin was on offer with Jon Pitt winning his second prize of the day. Longest drive was won by Steve Moody playing with clubs that had spent two years in the loft collecting dust but on the 12th the trail of dust was left miles behind with a monster drive of 260 yards. The 18th and final hole hosted the last challenge with nearest pin with second shot this was won by Pete Barratt with a shot just off the green 30ft from the hole. Jon Soloman also made a quest appearance paring up with Steve Moody and Jon Pitt to complete a nice day at the hospitable club in Binfield. Finally a big thank you to our sponsor Mizuno who provided prizes for ALL the participants. Results 1. John Pitt 45 points (handicap 18) 2. Toby Roberts 39 points (handicap 25) 3. Sam Barratt 35 points (handicap 26) NP: John Pitt LD: Steve Moody NP2: Pete Barratt
